   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide the power icon on screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Remove bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Heat the bottom edge

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer on low setting to the lower edge of the screen for 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach suction cup and lift glass

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull upward to create a slight gap above the frame.

   Slice lower display adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it across the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick up the left and right edges of the phone to separate the screen adhesive, stopping before the top edge clips.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently swing the display open from the right edge like the cover of a book, resting it against a prop to avoid straining the cables.

   Remove battery bracket screws

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the lower display cable and battery connector bracket.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

    Disconnect lower display cables

    Pry up the lower display connector cable and digitizer connector cable from their sockets on the board using a spudger.

    Remove upper bracket screws

    Remove the five Tri-point Y000 screws holding the upper sensor assembly cover bracket and set the bracket aside.

    Disconnect sensor assembly and remove display

    Disconnect the top sensor assembly cable, then lift the display assembly completely off the frame and store it in a safe place.

    Unscrew speaker assembly

    Use a Phillips #000 and Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the case.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Use tweezers to lift the loudspeaker out of the bottom enclosure, tilting it carefully away from the antenna contacts.

    Remove Taptic Engine screws

    Remove the screws securing the Taptic Engine vibrator motor to the inner bottom of the chassis.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Gently lift the Taptic Engine out of the frame using a spudger and set it aside.

    Unscrew charging port bracket and connectors

    Remove all remaining Phillips and Tri-point screws securing the Lightning port assembly, lower microphones, and antenna ground clips.

    Disconnect charging port cable

    Disconnect the main charging port flex cable connector from the bottom of the logic board with a spudger.

    Pry up the old charging port assembly

    Apply light heat to the back frame, then use a spudger to carefully unstick the dual microphones and Lightning connector ribbon from the frame.

    Install replacement charging port assembly

    Position the new Lightning port ribbon assembly into the chassis, pressing the port, microphones, and screw posts flush into position.

    Reinstall Taptic Engine and loudspeaker

    Place the Taptic Engine and loudspeaker back into position and reinsert their respective mounting screws tightly.

    Test new charging port

    Temporarily reconnect display cables and battery, power on the device, and plug in a charger to confirm charging functionality.

    Apply display perimeter adhesive

    Power off and disconnect the battery and display, scrape away old frame adhesive with isopropyl alcohol, and press down new precut adhesive strips.

    Reconnect display and battery cables

    Reconnect the top sensor cable, display cables, and battery press connector, then screw down both metal bracket covers.

    Close display and insert Pentalobe screws

    Align the top hooks of the display into the frame, press down firmly along all edges, and reinstall the two bottom P2 Pentalobe screws.
