Step-by-step

Power Off the iPhone 11
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide to power off. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Heat Lower Edge of Display
2 minApply a heated iOpener or hair dryer to the lower edge of the device for two minutes to soften the display perimeter seal.

Attach Suction Cup to Screen
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass, positioned just above the bottom speaker grill.

Insert Opening Pick into Bottom Seam
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a slight gap at the bottom edge, then insert an opening pick into the gap.

Slice Left and Right Edge Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick around the lower-left and lower-right edges to slice through the adhesive seal. Do not insert the pick deep along the right side.

Open Display Assembly
1 minGently swing the display open from the left edge like a book. Prop the display upright against a sturdy object so it does not strain ribbon cables.

Remove Logic Board Cable Bracket Screws
2 minUse a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the metal logic board cable cover bracket.

Remove Logic Board Cover Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift out the metal cover bracket and set it aside in a magnetic screw mat.

Disconnect Battery Press Connector
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect Display and Digitizer Cables
2 minPry the display assembly cable connectors straight up from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove Display Assembly
1 minLift the entire display assembly completely off the rear case and set it in a safe location.

Expose Battery Pull Tabs
2 minLocate the black adhesive pull-tab tips on the top and bottom edges of the battery and peel them back using tweezers.

Pull Bottom Battery Adhesive Strips
4 minGently pull the bottom adhesive tabs at a flat, low angle away from the battery until the strips slide out completely.

Pull Top Battery Adhesive Strips
4 minPull the top adhesive tabs slowly and parallel to the housing until they release from under the battery.

Lift Out Old Battery
2 minCarefully remove the battery from the chassis. Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol if any residual glue remains.

Apply Adhesive to New Battery
2 minPeel the protective film from the new adhesive strips, attach them to the back of the replacement battery, and press down firmly.

Install New Battery in Chassis
2 minAlign the replacement battery in the rear housing, lower it into position, and press down evenly on top of it.

Temporarily Connect Display and Test Power
4 minReconnect the display cables and battery connector, power on the device to verify function, then power off and disconnect the battery.

Apply New Perimeter Frame Adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue off the frame using isopropyl alcohol, align a new adhesive frame seal, and press it firmly around the edge.

Reconnect Ribbons and Reinstall Metal Bracket
3 minReconnect display and battery press connectors, reposition the metal bracket cover, and drive the Y000 tri-point screws back in place.

Seal Display and Install Pentalobe Screws
2 minAlign the top hooks of the display frame, press the screen into the case until flush, and reinstall the two bottom P2 pentalobe screws.
