Step-by-step

Power Off iPhone
1 minPress and hold the Side button and either Volume button, then slide the screen toggle to completely power down the device.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the frame.

Heat Bottom Edge
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the lower display edge for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the screen, just above the bottom speaker grilles.

Slice Perimeter Seal
4 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting an opening pick under the frame, then slide it around the bottom and side edges.

1 minSwing the screen open from the right side like a book, taking care not to strain the internal ribbon cables.

Remove Logic Board Bracket Screws
3 minUse a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the six screws holding down the main logic board connector cover plate.

5 minSlowly pull each stretch-release adhesive tab outward at a low angle until the entire strip releases.

Remove Depleted Battery
2 minLift the old battery out of the frame, applying a few drops of isopropyl alcohol underneath if adhesive remains.

Install New Battery Adhesive
2 minApply fresh double-sided stretch adhesive strips to the backside of the replacement battery.

2 minAlign the replacement battery in the housing, connect it briefly to test positioning, then press it firmly down.
