   Power Off iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button and either Volume button, then slide the screen toggle to completely power down the device.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the frame.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the lower display edge for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive seal.

   Attach Suction Handle

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the screen, just above the bottom speaker grilles.

   Slice Perimeter Seal

   Pull up on the suction cup while inserting an opening pick under the frame, then slide it around the bottom and side edges.

   Open Display Assembly

   Swing the screen open from the right side like a book, taking care not to strain the internal ribbon cables.

   Remove Logic Board Bracket Screws

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the six screws holding down the main logic board connector cover plate.

   Remove Connector Cover Bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the metal shield off the logic board and set it aside.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

    Disconnect Display Cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the display, digitizer, and front sensor assembly flex cables from the logic board.

    Separate Display Assembly

    Lift the entire display assembly away from the chassis and place it flat on a clean workspace.

    Remove Speaker Bracket Screws

    Unscrew the five tri-point screws securing the lower speaker assembly and Taptic Engine brackets.

    Remove Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine cable with a spudger, then lift the unit out to access the lower adhesive strips.

    Unpeel Adhesive Pull Tabs

    Use precision tweezers to peel back the black pull tabs located on the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Pull Battery Adhesive Strips

    Slowly pull each stretch-release adhesive tab outward at a low angle until the entire strip releases.

    Remove Depleted Battery

    Lift the old battery out of the frame, applying a few drops of isopropyl alcohol underneath if adhesive remains.

    Install New Battery Adhesive

    Apply fresh double-sided stretch adhesive strips to the backside of the replacement battery.

    Position New Battery

    Align the replacement battery in the housing, connect it briefly to test positioning, then press it firmly down.

    Reinstall Taptic Engine

    Set the Taptic Engine and lower speaker back into place, reattach their connector, and secure the screws.

    Reconnect Display Cables

    Snap the front sensor, digitizer, display, and battery flex cables back onto their logic board sockets.

    Fasten Cover Bracket

    Place the metal logic board shield over the connectors and tighten the six Y000 screws.

    Close Display Assembly

    Align the top edge of the display with the frame, then press down around the perimeter until it snaps into place.

    Install Pentalobe Screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws back into the bottom of the enclosure.
