Safety
- Unplug the console and wait at least 10 minutes to allow high-voltage capacitors to fully discharge.
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic damage to sensitive internal electronics.
- Do not bend or force the internal power prongs on the motherboard during removal or installation.

Step-by-step
- 1
Disconnect external cables
1 minUnplug the AC power cord, HDMI cable, and all USB devices from the back of the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Remove the top plastic cover
2 minPlace the console on a flat surface and push back on the front corners of the top panel to slide it off the chassis.

Peel off the rear warranty stickers
1 minUse tweezers to carefully peel back the black security stickers on the rear panel to reveal hidden screws.

Unscrew the rear T8 security screws
2 minRemove the T8 Security Torx screws exposed beneath the rear warranty stickers.

Pry off the bottom casing
2 minFlip the console over and lift up on the rear edges of the bottom panel to unclip and remove it.

Remove the metal shield screws
3 minUnscrew the T8 Security Torx and Phillips #0 screws holding down the lower metal EMI shield.

Lift off the metal EMI shield
1 minGently lift the metal shield plate straight up off the chassis to expose the power supply block.

Remove the power supply screws
2 minUnscrew the long Phillips and Torx screws securing the power supply unit to the console frame.

Disconnect the power harness cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect the small 4-pin power cable from the motherboard connector.

Remove the old power supply
2 minGrasp both sides of the power supply and pull straight up to disengage it from the motherboard prongs.

Install the new power supply
2 minAlign the replacement power supply with the motherboard prongs and press down evenly until fully seated.

Reconnect the power harness cable
1 minPlug the small 4-pin connector cable firmly back into the matching socket on the replacement power supply.

Reinstall the power supply screws
2 minReinsert and tighten the retaining screws to secure the power supply unit back in place.

Reassemble the console covers
4 minReattach the metal shield, secure the rear T8 screws, and snap the top and bottom outer panels back onto the frame.
