   Slide Off Top Cover

   Place the console flat and push the top front cover panel backward until it snaps free. Lift the panel off the chassis.

   Remove Hard Drive Cover

   Pry off the plastic hard drive cover on the rear corner of the console to expose the single retaining screw beneath it.

   Extract Hard Drive Assembly

   Unscrew the large Phillips screw securing the hard drive caddy. Slide the hard drive tray straight out of the frame.

   Remove Rear Security Screws

   Peel off the warranty stickers on the rear panel to reveal hidden screws. Use a T8 Torx Security screwdriver to remove all exposed rear screws.

   Remove Bottom Outer Cover

   Flip the console over and pop up the rear edges of the bottom plastic casing. Lift the cover away to expose the metal plate.

   Unscrew Top Metal Shield

   Remove the Phillips and T8 Torx screws securing the top steel shield plate. Carefully lift the metal plate off the chassis.

   Disconnect Power Supply Cables

   Unplug the small 4-pin wiring harness connecting the power supply to the motherboard. Disconnect the main power prongs by pulling the power supply straight up.

   Remove Power Supply Unit

   Grasp the power supply from both sides and lift it directly out of the console housing.

   Disconnect Motherboard Ribbon Cables

   Disconnect the optical drive ribbon cables and fan connector from the motherboard. Lift the locking tabs gently on zero-insertion-force connectors before pulling.

    Remove APU Retaining Bracket

    Unscrew the two Phillips screws holding the X-shaped APU bracket down. Lift the bracket and the upper metal shield plate off the motherboard.

    Lift Motherboard from Chassis

    Carefully lift the motherboard out of the lower plastic frame. Ensure no remaining thermal pads or cables stick to the board.

    Apply Flux to HDMI Port Pins

    Apply a generous amount of liquid or gel soldering flux across all HDMI port ground anchor legs and data pins.

    Desolder Damaged HDMI Port

    Heat the anchor pads and data pins evenly using a hot air rework station set to 380°C. Gently pull the damaged HDMI port off the motherboard using tweezers once the solder melts.

    Clean Motherboard Pads

    Apply fresh flux and use desoldering braid with a soldering iron to clean remaining solder from all pads and anchor holes. Clean the area with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

    Tin Data Pads

    Apply a tiny amount of fresh solder to each of the 19 signal pads on the motherboard to ensure clean connections.

    Solder New HDMI Port

    Position the replacement HDMI port onto the board and anchor the four support posts using solder. Carefully solder each of the 19 data pins to their corresponding pads using a fine chisel tip.

    Inspect and Clean Assembly

    Examine the pin connections under magnification to check for solder bridges or cold joints. Clean all remaining flux residue off the motherboard using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.
