Step-by-step

Remove the top outer cover
2 minFirmly pull up on the front corners of the top plastic cover and slide it backward to detach it from the console.

Remove the bottom outer cover
2 minFlip the console over and unclip the bottom plastic cover by pulling upward on the rear corners.

Peel off the rear security stickers
1 minUse precision tweezers to peel away the warranty stickers on the back of the console to reveal hidden screws.

Remove the rear panel screws
3 minUnscrew the TR9 Torx security screws located under the stickers on the rear panel.

Unscrew the main metal shield plate
5 minUse a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal shield cover on the bottom chassis.

Disconnect the power supply cable
2 minGently pull the power supply cable connector straight out from its motherboard socket using a spudger.

Lift out the power supply unit
3 minGrasp the power supply block on both sides and lift it straight up out of the console body.

Disconnect the cooling fan cable
2 minUnplug the fan's small wire harness from the motherboard using tweezers or your fingers.

Remove the inner heatsink shield screws
4 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws holding the inner heatsink and fan bracket in place.

Lift the old cooling fan out
2 minLift the original cooling fan straight up from its recessed housing inside the console frame.

Clear dust from the heatsink fins
3 minUse compressed air and a soft brush to clear out trapped dust from the heatsink housing before installing the new fan.

Place the replacement cooling fan
2 minSet the new fan into the recess, aligning the screw holes and routing the cable through the guide notch.

Plug in the new fan cable
2 minFirmly insert the new fan's cable connector into the motherboard socket.

Reinstall the inner shield plate
4 minPosition the inner metal shield plate over the heatsink assembly and secure it with the Phillips screws.

Reinstall the power supply unit
3 minLower the power supply back into the chassis and reconnect its motherboard power cable.

Snap the outer covers back into place
4 minReattach the rear panel screws, then slide and press the bottom and top plastic panels until they lock securely.
