Safety
- Unplug the console and wait 10 minutes for internal high-voltage capacitors to discharge completely before opening.
- Do not open the metal housing of the power supply unit itself due to severe electric shock hazard.

Step-by-step

Peel off the warranty sticker
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to carefully peel back the tamper-evident warranty sticker on the side of the console.

Remove the rubber screw cover
1 minPry out the small rubber foot located next to the hard drive door to reveal the hidden security screw.

Unscrew the security Torx bolt
2 minUse a T14 Security Torx driver to remove the single screw securing the outer top plate.

Slide off the top logo plate
1 minSlide the top glossy cover toward the left side of the console and lift it away.

Remove the upper casing screws
3 minUnscrew the seven Phillips #1 screws securing the main upper casing to the chassis.

Lift off the main top cover
2 minGently lift the back edge of the top casing and pivot it forward to remove it from the console base.

Disconnect the card reader cable
2 minIf your model includes a card reader, flip up the ZIF retaining flap and disconnect its ribbon cable.

Unplug the AC power cable
2 minSqueeze the locking tab on the main AC power input connector and pull it straight out of the power supply.

Remove the power supply retaining screws
3 minUnscrew the five Phillips screws holding the metal power supply housing to the inner chassis.

Disconnect the 5-pin control cable
2 minUnplug the small 5-pin wire harness connecting the power supply to the motherboard.

Lift out the power supply unit
2 minPull the power supply straight up to release it from the two high-voltage prongs on the motherboard.

Clean the power connector prongs
2 minWipe the motherboard's two metal power prongs with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Connect the control cable to the new unit
2 minPlug the 5-pin wire harness securely into the white socket on the replacement power supply.

Install the replacement power supply
2 minAlign the power supply sockets over the motherboard prongs and press down firmly until fully seated.

Secure the power supply screws
3 minReinstall the five Phillips screws to fasten the power supply module to the frame.

Reconnect the AC cable
2 minPlug the main AC input cable firmly into the side of the newly installed power supply.

Reattach the upper casing
2 minLower the main top cover over the console, aligning the front tabs before pressing down the rear.

Reinstall the top casing screws
3 minDrive the seven Phillips screws back into the upper casing to secure the console assembly.
