Remove Handle Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two 6.0 mm screws located at the bottom tip of each handle grip.

Slide Off Handle Grips
1 minPull the left and right handle grips straight down off the controller body to expose the rear shell screws.

Unscrew Translucent Back Cover
3 minRemove the five 6.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the translucent rear housing to the controller.

Lift Off Rear Shell
1 minGently lift the translucent rear shell off the controller and set it aside.

Disconnect Internal Battery
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its socket on the motherboard.

Remove Controller Battery
1 minLift the CTR-003 lithium-ion battery out of the plastic battery compartment.

Unscrew Battery Frame
3 minRemove the four 5.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the inner plastic battery tray to the chassis.

Remove Inner Battery Tray
2 minLift the plastic battery tray straight up off the mainboard assembly.

Unlock Charging Ribbon Cable
2 minUse a spudger to carefully flip up the small locking flap on the ZIF connector securing the power board ribbon cable.

Disconnect Power Ribbon Cable
1 minUse precision tweezers to slide the ribbon cable flat out of its ZIF socket.

Unscrew USB-C Power Board
2 minRemove the three 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws holding the USB-C charging assembly to the top frame.

Extract Defective Power Board
1 minLift the old USB-C power board out from its recessed slot in the controller frame.

Position Replacement Power Board
2 minInsert the new USB-C power board into the top frame cutout, ensuring the port aligns flush with the outer casing.

Secure New Power Board
2 minReinstall the three 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws to hold the power assembly in place.

Reconnect Ribbon Cable
2 minSlide the power ribbon cable into the ZIF connector and press the flip lock down to secure it.

Reinstall Inner Battery Tray
3 minSet the battery tray back onto the motherboard and tighten the four 5.0 mm Phillips screws.

Connect and Install Battery
2 minPlace the battery back into its tray and firmly press its connector into the motherboard socket.

Reattach Rear Shell and Grips
4 minReinstall the rear cover with its five screws, slide the handle grips back on, and secure them with the remaining two screws.
