Unscrew Handle Grips
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw located at the bottom tip of each handle grip.

Slide Off Handle Grips
1 minGrasp the plastic handle grips firmly and pull them straight down to remove them from the controller body.

Remove Rear Case Screws
2 minUnscrew the four Phillips #00 screws securing the translucent rear cover to the internal frame.

Lift Away Rear Case
1 minGently lift the translucent rear casing straight up off the controller to expose the battery compartment.

Remove Battery
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool under the battery notch and lift the battery out of its recess.

Unscrew Battery Housing
3 minRemove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the mid-frame battery housing to the front assembly.

Remove Battery Frame
1 minLift the plastic battery housing straight up and out of the controller chassis.

Desolder Vibration Motor Wires
4 minNote the wire colors, then use a soldering iron to melt the solder joints and detach the rumble motor wires from the board.

Disconnect Button Ribbon Cables
3 minUse precision tweezers to flip up the locking tabs on the ZIF connectors and slide out the ribbon cables.

Remove Motherboard Screws
2 minUnscrew the four Phillips #00 screws anchoring the main board to the front plastic enclosure.

Extract Motherboard
2 minCarefully lift the motherboard out of the front housing, ensuring no remaining flex cables snag on the board.

Apply Flux to Target Joints
3 minInspect the damaged area under a magnifying lamp and dab liquid flux onto the component solder pads.

Desolder Damaged Component
5 minPlace desoldering braid over the solder pads and heat it with the soldering iron tip until the old solder absorbs into the copper braid.

Clean Board with Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minDip a cotton swab in high-concentration isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub away all residual flux from the motherboard.
