Step-by-step

Disconnect All External Cables
2 minUnplug the AC adapter, HDMI cable, and any USB accessories from the dock.

Remove Rear Housing Screws
3 minUse a Tri-point Y00 screwdriver to extract the rear outer housing screws on the dock shell.

Pry Open Enclosure
3 minInsert a plastic spudger along the seam and gently release the rear panel clips.

Remove Internal Shield Screws
3 minUnscrew the internal Phillips #00 screws securing the metal EMI shield.

Lift Metal Shield
2 minCarefully remove the metal shield plate to gain access to the main circuit board.

Disconnect Status LED
2 minUse precision tweezers to detach the small status LED ribbon connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew Motherboard
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 retaining screws holding the motherboard inside the lower frame.

Extract Motherboard

5 minUse copper desoldering wick and a fine soldering tip to remove old solder from the board pads.

Solder Replacement HDMI Port
10 minPosition the new HDMI port, secure the anchor pins with fresh solder, and drag-solder the signal leads.

Clean and Reassemble Dock
8 minClean remaining flux residue with 99% isopropyl alcohol, re-seat the motherboard, and reinstall the shield and screws.
