Eject the MicroSD Card
1 minPress the MicroSD card into its slot until it clicks, then release to eject it completely from the console.

Remove Rear Y00 Screws
2 minUse a Y00 Tri-Point screwdriver to remove the four outer screws located on the back panel corners.

Remove Top Shell Screws
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws located on the top edge of the housing near the volume buttons.

Remove Bottom Shell Screws
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws located on the bottom edge alongside the USB-C port.

Unsnap Rear Cover
3 minInsert an opening pick into the seam along the perimeter and pry gently to release the internal plastic clips.

Remove Shield Plate Screws
3 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the aluminum heat shield plate.

Lift Away Metal Shield
1 minGently lift the metal shield plate straight up and remove it from the internal chassis.

Disconnect the Battery
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its motherboard socket.

Remove Heat Sink Screws
2 minRemove the three Phillips #00 screws holding the copper heat sink down over the processor.

Lift the Heat Sink
2 minPry up carefully to separate the heat sink from the thermal paste on the shield layer and motherboard.

Disconnect Game Card Reader
2 minFlip up the small locking tab on the ZIF connector and slide out the game card reader ribbon cable.

Remove Game Card Assembly
3 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the headphone jack and game card assembly, then lift it out.

Disconnect Display Cables
3 minUnlock and disconnect the screen display and digitizer ribbon cables from their respective ZIF sockets.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to unclip the two Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna cables from the board.

Disconnect Interconnect Ribbon
2 minFlip open the ZIF connector latch and remove the ribbon cable linking to the left button daughterboard.

Remove Motherboard Screws
3 minRemove the four remaining Phillips #00 screws securing the main motherboard to the lower case.

Lift Out Motherboard
3 minGently pivot the motherboard up by its top edge and remove it completely from the console body.

Clean Thermal Paste
4 minUse isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free wipe to clear old thermal compound off all mating surfaces before reassembly.
