Step-by-step

Remove Outer Tri-Point Screws
2 minUse a Y00 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four screws located on the corners of the rear case.

Remove Perimeter Phillips Screws
2 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws along the top, bottom, and side edges of the console.

Pry Off the Back Cover
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam along the edge and slide it around to release the plastic clips.

Lift Away the Back Cover
1 minCarefully separate the rear housing from the console body and set it aside.

Unscrew the MicroSD Card Reader
2 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the microSD card reader board in place.

Disconnect the MicroSD Card Reader
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the reader board connector straight up off the motherboard.

Remove Shield Plate Screws
3 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the silver metal heat shield plate.

Lift Off Shield Plate
2 minGently lift the metal shield plate away from the console to expose the motherboard.

Disconnect the Battery
2 minPry the battery connector directly upward out of its socket using a spudger to cut power to the system.

Unscrew the eMMC Board
2 minLocate the small eMMC storage daughterboard and remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing it.

Remove the eMMC Module
2 minGently pry up the eMMC board connector from the motherboard and lift the module out.

Install the New eMMC Module
2 minAlign the replacement eMMC module connector with the socket on the motherboard and press down to seat it.

Secure the eMMC Board
2 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw to hold the eMMC module in place.

Reconnect the Battery
1 minAlign the battery connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to reconnect it.

Reinstall the Metal Shield
3 minPosition the silver heat shield plate back over the mainboard and secure it with its four Phillips #00 screws.

Reattach the MicroSD Card Reader
2 minPress the microSD card reader connector onto the board and secure the module with its Phillips #00 screw.

Snap Rear Housing into Place
2 minAlign the rear cover over the console and press firmly along the edges until the clips snap together.

Reinstall Rear Housing Screws
3 minThread and tighten the four Y00 tri-point screws on the back and the four outer Phillips screws.
