Power Down and Eject MicroSD Card
2 minTurn off the Nintendo Switch Lite completely and remove any inserted microSD card from the bottom slot.

Remove Back Cover Y-Type Screws
3 minUse a Tri-point Y00 driver to remove the four screws located on the rear panel near the corners.

Remove Edge Phillips Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 driver to remove the four screws along the top, bottom, and side edges of the casing.

Pry Open the Rear Housing
4 minInsert an opening pick into the seam along the edge and slide it around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

Remove MicroSD Card Reader
2 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the card reader module, then gently disconnect its press-fit connector from the board.

Unscrew Silver Shielding Plate
3 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the aluminum heat shield plate to the frame.

Lift Off Shielding Plate
2 minCarefully lift the metal shield off the console to expose the motherboard, battery, and cooling pipe.

Disconnect Battery Connector
2 minUse a spudger to gently pry the battery cable straight up out of its socket to cut power to the device.

Disconnect Left Board Ribbon Cable
3 minFlip open the ZIF connector locking flap on the main interconnect ribbon cable and pull the ribbon free.

Unbolt Left Button Daughterboard
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws holding the left daughterboard to the plastic chassis.

Disconnect Joystick Ribbon Cable
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to lift the small ZIF latch on the joystick ribbon connector and slide the cable out.

Unscrew Joystick Assembly
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws anchoring the damaged analog joystick module in place.

Remove Faulty Joystick
1 minLift the old joystick module out of its recess in the front housing.

Position Replacement Joystick
2 minDrop the new analog joystick into the frame, ensuring the rubber gasket sits flush against the shell.

Fasten New Joystick Screws
2 minReinstall the two Phillips #00 screws to hold the replacement joystick firmly in position.

Reconnect Joystick Ribbon Cable
2 minSlide the joystick ribbon cable fully into the ZIF connector and press down the locking latch.

Reassemble Console and Calibrate Stick
5 minReconnect the battery, reattach the heat shield and rear cover in reverse order, then calibrate the new stick in System Settings.
