Safety
- Disconnect the main battery connector before touching internal power components to prevent electrical shorts.
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to avoid electrostatic discharge damage to internal integrated circuits.
- Do not bend, puncture, or apply excessive pressure to the internal battery pouch.

Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the console
1 minCompletely turn off your Nintendo Switch 2 and unplug all connected cables. Remove any inserted Game Cards and MicroSD cards.

Remove the kickstand screw
2 minFlip open the kickstand on the back cover. Use a Y00 tri-point screwdriver to remove the single screw underneath.

Remove the outer back panel screws
3 minUse a Y00 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four outer corner screws on the rear casing.

Remove the top and bottom screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws along the top edge and adjacent to the lower USB-C port.

Lift off the rear casing
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the perimeter seam. Gently slide around the edges and pull off the back cover.

Remove the shield plate screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the aluminum heat shield plate.

Remove the metal heat shield
2 minLift the aluminum heat shield straight up off the chassis to expose the motherboard assembly.

Disconnect the battery
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its motherboard socket.

Disconnect the power board ribbon cable
2 minUse tweezers to lift the small locking latch on the power board ZIF connector and slide the flex cable out.

Remove the power daughterboard screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to unfasten the screws holding the power delivery daughterboard to the lower housing.

Remove the damaged power board
2 minGently lift the faulty power board up and out of the console frame using precision tweezers.

Install the new power board
2 minPosition the new power daughterboard into the lower housing, aligning it carefully over the mounting posts.

Secure the new power board
3 minReinstall and tighten the mounting screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver until snug.

Reconnect the power ribbon cable
2 minSlide the flex cable into the ZIF socket on the new power board and push the locking latch down to secure it.

Reconnect the battery cable
2 minAlign the battery plug directly over its socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Reinstall the metal heat shield
4 minSet the metal heat shield back onto the chassis and replace all retaining screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Reattach the rear casing
4 minSnap the back panel onto the console body and secure all outer Y00 and Phillips screws.

Power the Switch 2 back on and test the power supply repair function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair.
