Step-by-step

Unscrew the battery cover
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the two captive screws on the upper rear cover.

Pry off the battery cover
1 minInsert a plastic spudger into the top notch and pry the cover away from the console.

Remove the battery
1 minLift the rechargeable battery out from the bottom edge of the compartment.

Unscrew the lower chassis
3 minRemove the seven Phillips screws securing the lower outer casing, including the hidden ones near the game card slot.

Disconnect shoulder button cables
