Peel Rear Stickers
2 minUse a spudger or tweezers to peel off the two tamper-evident stickers on the back panel of the console.

Remove Outer Case Screws
2 minUse a TR8 Security Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws hidden beneath the rear stickers.

Slide Off Outer Shell

Remove Heatsink X-Clamp
4 minPry the four corners of the X-clamp off the retention posts on the underside of the motherboard.

Detach Heatsink
3 minGently twist and lift the heatsink away from the main APU, then clean off the old thermal paste.

Apply Liquid Flux
2 minApply rosin liquid flux generously to the HDMI port anchor legs and signal solder pads.

Desolder Damaged HDMI Port
5 minHeat the underside of the HDMI pins using a hot air rework station until the solder melts, then remove the port with tweezers.

Clean Motherboard Pads
4 minUse desoldering wick and a soldering iron to clear residual solder, then clean the pads with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Solder New HDMI Port
8 minPosition the new HDMI port, solder the four structural anchor pins first, and then carefully solder each signal pad.
