Step-by-step

Peel rear security stickers
2 minUse a pair of tweezers to carefully peel off the two tamper-evident stickers covering the screws on the rear panel.

Unscrew rear housing screws
3 minUse a TR8 Security Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws located behind the peeled stickers.

Slide off upper housing
2 minSlide the outer white plastic shell toward the back of the console to unlatch it, then lift it away.

Remove internal chassis screws
4 minUse a TR10 Security Torx screwdriver to remove the seven long green screws securing the internal chassis.

Lift bottom metal panel
2 minGently lift the bottom metal shield panel straight up off the main internal assembly.

Disconnect power supply cable
2 minUnplug the main power supply wire harness connector from the motherboard by pulling straight up on the connector body.

Lift out power supply
2 minGrasp the power supply unit firmly with both hands and lift it straight out of the internal frame.

Disconnect cooling fan cable
2 minUse a spudger to carefully unplug the fan cable from its motherboard header.

Remove Wi-Fi card screws
3 minRemove the TR8 screws securing the Wi-Fi board, then lift the board out of the chassis frame.

Extract motherboard assembly
3 minLift the motherboard and attached heatsink out of the lower metal casing.

Unscrew SSD heat shield
2 minLocate the M.2 2230 SSD on the motherboard and use a TR8 Security Torx screwdriver to remove its single mounting screw.

Remove SSD heat shield cover
1 minLift the metal heat shield bracket directly off the SSD.

Extract original M.2 SSD
2 minGently pull the M.2 2230 SSD straight out from its slot on the motherboard.

Insert replacement M.2 SSD
2 minAlign the key notch of the new M.2 2230 SSD with the motherboard slot and press it firmly into place.

Reinstall SSD heat shield
2 minPosition the heat shield over the SSD and re-tighten the TR8 screw to secure the assembly.
