Remove Battery Cover
1 minSlide the battery door off the back of the controller and remove both AA batteries.

Pry Left Grip Cover
2 minInsert a plastic pry tool into the seam of the left grip handle and pop the panel free.

Remove Handle Screws
3 minUnscrew the four TR9 Torx security screws located on the outer edges of the grips.

Remove Rear Shell

Unscrew Top Board
2 minRemove the two T6 Torx screws securing the upper circuit board to the internal plastic frame.

Unclip Bumper Assembly
2 minGently unhook the plastic tabs securing the top bumper bracket to detach the shoulder buttons.

Lift Circuit Board Assembly
2 minCarefully tilt and lift the board assembly out of the chassis without straining the haptic motor wires.

Clean Potentiometer Contacts
3 minDip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and wipe down the analog stick sensors and button pads.

Realign Board in Chassis
2 minLower the circuit board assembly back into the frame, verifying the rumble motors are correctly seated.

Reattach Bumper Assembly
2 minAlign the bumper assembly with the top of the frame and press firmly until the clips snap in.
