   Pry off the left side vent

   Insert a spudger into the gap between the side vent and upper casing near the rear. Carefully pry outward to release the plastic clips and remove the vent panel.

   Slide the plastic binding clip

   Locate the small plastic locking clip along the edge exposed by the vent panel. Slide the clip back toward the front panel to unlock the top and bottom casing halves.

   Pop open the rear case clips

   Run a spudger along the seam on the back of the console to unclip the locking tabs. Press gently inward while lifting up on the top shell until it pops free.

   Lift away the upper outer case

   Rotate the top shell up from the back, taking care not to pull hard near the front ribbon cable. Pivot the casing and lay it flat next to the unit.

   Disconnect the front power button cable

   Locate the thin blue ribbon cable connecting the front panel board to the main body. Slide the locking tab on the ZIF connector up and pull the ribbon cable straight out.

   Unscrew the Wi-Fi module

   Use a Torx T8 Security screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the front-facing Wi-Fi board to the metal chassis.

   Disconnect the Wi-Fi board

   Lift the Wi-Fi board directly straight up from its socket on the top shield. Disconnect the small antenna connector from the board and set the board aside.

   Remove the metal shield screws

   Use a Torx T10 screwdriver to remove all long perimeter screws holding the top metal shield to the bottom tray.

   Lift off the upper metal shield

   Grasp the top metal enclosure by the edges and pull it straight up off the inner components. Set the metal shield aside.

    Disconnect the hard drive and optical drive

    Unplug the SATA data and power cables connected to both the Blu-ray drive and the 2.5-inch hard drive assembly.

    Remove the internal drive tray

    Lift the optical drive and hard drive mounting tray straight up out of the lower enclosure and place them on your workspace.

    Unscrew the motherboard from the bottom tray

    Remove the remaining short Torx T10 screws securing the motherboard to the bottom metal casing.

    Remove the motherboard from the casing

    Gently tilt the front edge of the motherboard up and pull it out of the bottom metal chassis. Place the motherboard on an ESD-safe mat.

    Apply solder flux to the HDMI pins

    Generously coat the main HDMI port signal pins and side mounting legs with liquid or paste solder flux.

    Heat and remove the old HDMI port

    Apply heat to the underside of the HDMI port pins using a hot air rework station set to 380°C. Gently lift the damaged port free using fine tweezers once the solder melts.

    Clear solder from the motherboard anchor holes

    Apply desoldering braid and a hot soldering iron tip to clear old solder from all throughput anchor holes and surface pads. Clean the area with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

    Align and seat the replacement HDMI port

    Push the through-hole legs of the new HDMI port firmly into the mounting holes on the motherboard until the signal pins align flat against the pads.

    Solder the new HDMI port pins

    Solder the four through-hole mounting legs first to anchor the port. Carefully solder each of the 19 fine signal pins using a fine chisel tip, ensuring no solder bridges form.
