Remove the Hard Drive Door
1 minSlide the latch on the right side of the console to unlock and remove the hard drive cover.

Extract the Hard Drive
1 minPull the fabric tab attached to the hard drive straight out to remove it from the bay.

Pry Off Top Vent Grille
3 minInsert a flat spudger under the edge of the top plastic vent grille to release the perimeter clips.

Pry Off Bottom Vent Grille
3 minUse a spudger along the bottom vent panel to release the locking tabs and lift it off.

Remove Side Bezel Trims
3 minRelease the catch tabs holding the left and right side bezel trims and pull them clear of the chassis.

Unlatch Outer Shell Clips
4 minInsert a spudger along the rear seam clips to detach the top and bottom plastic case halves.

Separate Plastic Shell
2 minLift the top half of the plastic shell away from the inner metal chassis.

Remove RF Board Screws
2 minUnscrew the two T8 Torx screws securing the front power/RF module board.

Detach RF Board
1 minPull the front RF board straight out from its header connector on the front panel.

Remove Upper Metal Shield Screws
4 minRemove the nine silver T10 Torx screws securing the top metal chassis plate.

Lift Off Top Metal Shield
2 minLift the upper metal shield straight off the console to expose the internal components.

Disconnect Optical Drive Cables
2 minUnplug the SATA data cable and power cable from the back of the optical drive.

Remove Optical Drive
1 minLift the optical disc drive up and out of the metal chassis.

Lift Off Plastic Fan Duct
2 minUnclip and remove the black plastic air shroud covering the processor heatsink and fan.

Unplug Fan Power Connector
2 minDisconnect the 4-pin fan cable header from the motherboard near the rear wall.

Remove Fan Assembly
3 minPush inward on the plastic retaining clips holding the fan housing to the rear wall and pull the fan out.

Install Replacement Fan
2 minAlign the new fan with the rear exhaust vents and press until the retaining clips snap into place.
