Brilliant Labs Frame

The Brilliant Labs Frame represents a distinct approach to wearable technology, combining open source hardware and software with a lightweight, vintage inspired spectacle design. Built primarily for developers, tinkerers, and early adopters, Frame integrates multimodal AI interactions into the wearer's field of view through an optical display module paired with a front facing camera and microphone. Driven by the companion Noa application, the device visualizes real time translation, web searches, and visual analysis directly on the lens without relying on bulky headset enclosures. From a hardware design perspective, Frame achieves its sub 40 gram weight by utilizing ultra compact micro OLED displays, a custom circuit board layout, and tiny internal batteries housed within the frame arms. Power delivery is managed via an external charging dock known as Mister Power, which clips directly over the bridge of the frames. Because the device prioritizes minimal bulk, internal components rely heavily on delicate flexible printed circuits (FPCs), surface mount micro connectors, and custom optical prisms rather than traditional modular assemblies. Despite its innovative engineering, the tig…
